Beriain Amatriain, David
Graduate in Journalism at the Univesity of Navarra.
Master in Communication and in armed conflicts at the University Complutense of Madrid.
After a first experience as a research reporter in Argentina, he was war correspondent for La Voz de Galicia for six and a half years. For this newspaper he covered the invasion of Iraq, the war in Afghanistan and the Darfur Conflict.
He won the digital Journalism Prize "Premio José Manuel Porquet de periodismo digital" for his series of reports "Diez dias con las FARC" ("Ten days with FARC"), a world exclusive, which made he live ten days with the Colombian guerrilla.
He was one of the finalists of the Bayeux-Calvados Award 2008, the most prestigious prize for war correspondents of the world, for his work about the Colombia FARC guerrilla group.
In 2003, he won the Ortega and Gasset Award for the news coverage in the invasion of Iraq.
